Christian Education

After worship, the primary calling of the church is to teach about our God. St. Mark's Statement of Mission emphasizes this role, as does our Christian Education efforts. We have a traditional Sunday School for children. We also offer classes for adults during the Sunday School hour. We also have several other opportunities for adults to learn more about God during the week. We also provide specific instruction in our beliefs to 7th and 8th Grade youth in their Confirmation studies and in an Inquirer's class for adults.

OUR SUNDAY EDUCATION HOUR IS FROM 9:45AM - 10:45AM

MANY THANKS to students and families who have been participating in our SOS, Sunday of Service. Please note the special dates below:

May 11 - SOS - Mother's Day - A special tribute will be given to Mothers
June 8 - SOS - Sunday School Closing Service

- Please set this time aside to join us as we bring our offering forward, participate in the
service, and give thanks and praise to our dedicated teachers.
             - We will also honor the Holahan family. Sandi and Steve have taught Sunday School for
many years and together with their children have been very involved in our Sunday
School ministry. They will be moving to Richmond at the end of the school year and we
will miss them and their 4 beautiful children.

WEEKLY CHALLENGES - Parents ask your children about the weekly challenges they are given in Sunday School each week. They are to be returned the following week in Sunday School with a signature from parents verifying that they completed the challenge. We are encouraging students to participate in the weekly challenges to not only help reinforce what they are learning in Sunday School, but also how they can live out their Belief In God. Special prizes will be awarded at the end of the year.

As we look forward to summer vacation, we are also starting to plan for next year. We want to invite parents and/or any interested adults who like to work with children to become more involved and help enrich our teaching ministry. Not only do we need 3 Teachers for next year, there are many other ways you can serve. Please pray about this opportunity to share your faith and love. Open your hearts to help serve our youngest members. We need you!

Again, we ask for your support and continued prayers. We give thanks for the opportunity to share God's love with you, your children, and with those in our community.
Blessings and peace,

Barb Gilbert
Sunday School Coordinator

SMALL GROUPS

We have many St. Mark's members and friends who participate in weekly Bible study. They share friendship, prayers, and food while getting to know the Bible, their Savior, and each other a little bit better. Click Small Groups for our current offerings and schedules. If you are interested in participating in any of these studies please call for more information or just show up.

EVERYONE is always welcome!

CONFIRMATION MINISTRY

My how time flies. We are one month away from the completion of another wonderful confirmation year. Pray throughout this month for five beloved confirmands who will be confirmed on Sunday, June 1 - Keegan Lane, Jessica Lepre, Julia Holahan, Colin Scanlan, and Shannon Morken. It has been a joy to watch them grow spiritually as young Christians.

As this LION is being printed, an exciting fun night with food and bowling is being planned in late April, and the final service project will be held on Wednesday night, April 30 when the class travels to CityTeam in Chester, PA, where they will serve dinner and learn from the residents about their recovery journeys. CityTeam is a Christian based homeless shelter and recovery site.

Praise God for these great youth and the many parents and adults who are helping.
